Spil Games is one of only 14 game companies selected by Facebook whose games will be featured in the launch of Instant Games.
Instant Games is a new feature announced by Facebook today which lets people play games within seconds on Messenger or their Facebook News Feed.
People can start playing Instant Games directly in Messenger, whether they discovered new games through the game controller icon just below where people type a message, are challenged by a friend, in a group conversation, or they saw a game on a shared post in their Facebook News Feed. A dedicated Instant Games bookmark is also available on Facebook where people can view and instantly replay all their favourite titles they previously enjoyed across both platforms.
Spil Games is thrilled that its Endless Lake is one of a small number of games judged by Facebook to be sufficiently good to feature in the Instant Games launch.
“The ability to go straight from discussing a game to playing it, makes gaming truly intrinsic to the social experience,” says Tung Nguyen-Khac, CEO of Spil Games. “We already know from what we’ve seen in Asia how powerful it can be integrating games into the instant messaging environment. Facebook’s move brings this idea to a global audience and that has huge potential. We’re proud to be involved right at the start of things.”
Endless Lake is an entertaining and high quality vertical-runner game that is ideal for playing within Facebook or Messenger. Spil Games’ HTML5 expertise meant the game could be fine-tuned to work perfectly within Instant Games.
“We understand that Facebook engineers were hooked on Endless Lake during the evaluation phase,” says Tung. “That’s awesome because any new gaming experience demands that players are having fun. We think Facebook users will be just as excited about Endless Lake.”
All games available through Instant Games are free to play and run in a web view and work across both Messenger and Facebook News Feed on mobile and desktop. To maximise the impact of the launch, Facebook carefully selected 17 games from 14 companies to feature in Instant Games. Although other games will be added in due course, the Instant Games developer platform remains in closed-beta for the time being.

Spil Games is a fast-growing and agile games publisher and producer, already reaching huge audiences across the web and mobile.
In the space of a year, we have ramped up our mobile business to over 100m installs and we’re well on our way to hitting our 175m target before December 2016. This growth is mainly organic and through cross-promotion. We confidently expect these figures to be the start of more great things to come.
